The Woodcraft Folk is an international educational movement for children and young people designed to develop self-confidence, co-operation and awareness of the environment. Scotstoun Woodies (Woodcraft Folk) are based at West Glasgow's Scotstoun Primary School. But their members come from other schools as well. They currently have over 80 members (plus grown ups) ranging in age from 6 to 13 and are Scotland's biggest group. Kids belong to one of five groups depending on age:

  • Woodchips (Under 6's)
  • Younger Elfins (6-7)
  • Older Elfins (8-9)
  • Pioneers (10-13)
  • Venturers (14-18)
  • Listens to children and young people and encourages them to share their skills and enthusiasm
  • Believes in equal opportunities & access for all members
  • Is open to all faiths
  • Empowers young people to feel confident and take part in the world around them
  • Is dedicated to peace and co-operation
  • Exchanges with similar groups around the world (our international links help us to further our motto: Span the world with friendship)
