The garden is fenced to keep deer out, and each plot has water available. There are tools covering most garden chores in a community shed for use by the gardeners. The use of a plot is free, but there is an expectation that the gardeners share some of their bounty with the Thursday Community Lunch program. Participants are asked to attend a few work parties throughout the year. If you like to garden but don’t want your own plot, you are welcome to join the work parties and help out other gardeners.

Cost: Free (Work/trade is expected; there are several work parties throughout the year)

GARDENS: 18 sunny 10 x 20 plots P-Patch (individual plots) Orchard (shared) Apple, Plum, Cherry Perennial Plants (shared) Blueberries, Rhubarb, Herbs, and beneficial flowers for pollinators and community event bouquets

CULINARY: Bounty is shared with the Thursday Community Lunch program. A Community Kitchen is located nearby in the Community building.

SUPPORT: The garden has received major financial support from the Jefferson County Master Gardeners Association, the Quilcene-Brinnon Garden Club, Thrivent Financial Services, as well as from Jefferson County Parks and Recreation District 1. Local individuals helped in many ways to make the P-patch possible, from plowing the ground to providing fencing materials and plants, and more.

CONTACTS:  For information about the garden and obtaining a plot, contact Jackie Gardner (jacquelinegardner50@gmail.com) or Joanmarie Eggert (joanmariege@gmail.com)
