An excellent example of a grassy meadow that was once a lawn at the back of the vet surgery, off Argyll Street. The grassy meadow is enclosed by trees along one side and the vet surgery car park is on the other. Milton Burn runs behind the trees at the back of the meadow. The dampness in this area attracts a range of native wildflower species which like these conditions, including marsh orchids, buttercups, stitchwort, cuckoo flower, knapweed and more. The flowers in turn attract pollinators, including bees and moths. Crickets can also be heard. A path is mown through the middle, so dog owners can walk their dogs through the calming meadow before or after a vet visit.

Find out where to watch porpoises playing in the water, bees feasting on wildflower nectar, oystercatchers hunting for dinner through this locally created biodiversity map of Dunoon.
