Glengarry Community Woodlands was formed in 2016 to purchase what is today the community woodlands. Since then, the organisation has acquired additional land and is now involved in numerous community development projects, including affordable housing, woodland crofts and the sustainable management of our woodland resources.

We are formed as a Development Trust and a Company Limited by Guarantee with charitable status, with membership drawn mainly from the Glengarry area.

Our purposes is to advance sustainable community development; organising educational & recreational activities; and advancing environmental protection or improvement. To meet this remit, we organise a variety of events and clubs, hold consultations on community development projects and, in 2022, launched the Glengarry Forest Cabin enterprise, a sustainable eco-tourism project.

By joining H&I Climate Hub we hope to further our links with groups in the area, share good practice and new ideas.

Check out their website, or see their Facebook (Glengarry Community Woodlands) or Instagram (Glengarrycommunitywoods)!
