The objects of the group are to:
a) achieve and maintain “Fairtrade Zone” status for Orkney
b) promote the Fairtrade concept throughout Orkney by encouraging maximum participation and raising awareness
c) work positively with other local Fairtrade groups to achieve common goals
Fairtrade has always worked for economic and environmental sustainability - for People and Planet - and we increasingly emphasise our work to mitigate climate change and its impacts on vulnerable communities. We want to raise awareness of how individuals and communities can change the way they purchase and consume to reflect these values. We want to link up with other climate activists and contribute perspectives from small international producers. We work across the whole of Orkney.
