Second tower- One Third Avenue, Brooklyn

Aspiring to be the tallest passive house in the world, One Third Avenue is a mixed-use tower situated on the westernmost portion of the Alloy Block and will include market-rate and affordable housing, retail and commercial office space.

An airtight, well insulated building envelope and filtered fresh air offers a healthy indoor environment with a low carbon footprint.

Passive House in New York City

"Passive House" is an important building standard that brings efficiency and comfort together. New York City has a growing number of these new, state of the art buildings that save money and the climate. Also known as Passivehaus (this standard has German roots), several of the newest buildings came from this national database, Passive House Projects. This map is made by Green Map System's own local Green Map NYC project. We created our first Passive House Green Map in 2013, and in summer 2025, 50 buildings were added and/or updated by Simone Reckhaus, our intern from University of Bologna in Italy.
