Like many of my community colleagues Strathdearn have also had a lengthy power outage. Thanks to our resilience plan of solar & battery storage plus a generator we have ‘weathered’ the storm. Shop/cafe & community hub have been able to keep the doors open & the lights on. Providing hot showers, soup for elderly who couldn’t get along was also dispatched. Mobile phone charging stations and the use of the kitchen to cook meals in the hub was a helpful warm space.Some projects deliver more than others, this was a winner! Thanks to the boys & girls at SSEN for getting us back on in dangerous conditions 👌🎖️
