WELCOME TO OGM2
The versatile Green Map Platform, also known as Open Green Map (OGM) is created by the terrific team at the GISCollective, for and with Green Map System. Progress is continually updated here. It’s expanded upon in their Blog and their technical updates. We are grateful to all the Green Mapmakers whose experience and vision contribute greatly to this platform's continual progress.
Updates on Platform progress:
October 2022 - We've updated the photo gallery on the details page for each featured site.
August 2022 - Now you can add captions, credits and links to photos. To make getting started easier, now you can register to login with Google. Our terms of service are updated, too.
June 2022 - Base Map improvements! Three options for different terrains are optimized for this Platform, and each is credited on the map’s legend. Or add your own base map.
April 2022 - Better error response with new alerts and refinements to maps, campaigns, data uploads and browsing.
January 2022 - Launch of the documentation website and Quick Start Guide at docs.giscollective.com. Matomo analytics support was added, and visual layout improvements completed. A redesign of the search functionality was deployed on the map view.
November 2021 - Green Map shares six local projects at COP 26 in Glasgow, the United Nations Climate Conference, where the local Green Map, created by the Climate Fringe and Glasgow Eco Trust, crowdsourced 275 great sites with our Campaign tools and new What’s Green Nearby app. A pivotal meeting in Dunoon brought Green Map System, the GISCollective and Tacit Design together.
August 2021 - App development! Metadata (the data about the data), bug fixes and API work.
June 2021 - Search has been greatly improved, both for map users and the makers (you can even search the icon legend when adding new sites)!
May 2021 - Mapmaker Dashboard is deployed! Login to see all your teams, maps, icons etc. on one Manage menu
April 2021 - Campaigns - a quick, targeted way to engage people in mapping with you
March 2021 - Check out our Open Data Day presentation
February 2021 - The GIS Collective added an Update to their website with more technical information
January 2021 - Browse and Search improvements
December 2020 - Yes, you can now add sound files, 360º photos and more to location descriptions
November 2020 - a great month for connecting with networks and selecting the languages of the interface!
October 2020 - Refining the data filtering, photos and profile
September 2020 - More flexibility: add your own base map
August 2020 - New! Now you can map Lines and Polygons, upload GPX files or draw bike routes, car-free zones, etc!
July 2020 - Several new resources are added, including an FAQ
June 2020 - Now in Beta, with first tutorials ready (see them on the About page)
March 2020 - open to all for alpha testing
February 2020 - open to Green Mapmakers to update their OGM1 data and provide feedback
