WELCOME TO OGM2
OGM2 is Green Map System's second Open Green Map platform. Designed for community mapping, this open source platform is ready for all kinds of mapmakers, from students to professionals who want to draw attention to sustainability resources and needs in their own city or town.
OGM2 includes the original set of Green Map Icons for charting nature, culture, social justice and sustainable living resources. OGM2 allows for new icon sets to be added, for example, our Recovery Icons (created in response to the Pandemic) and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, along with customized sets for specific localities.
Start by Browsing or explore the world view map. Or create a new account (it's free) at the Sign In and get your own map rolling! Much more about the adaptable mapping process, local outcomes and our icons is at GreenMap.org.
OGM2 is versatile, and allows import and export of data. It includes 41,000 sites from the original OGM platform, and while mapmakers are gradually reviewing and updating, there are dozens of brand-new Open Green Maps to explore.
Wendy Brawer and all of Green Map System thank Bogdan Szabo and Alexandra Casapu, the open source development GISCollective for their great open work on OGM2. We are grateful to all the Green Mapmakers whose experience contributes to this platform's continual progress. Thanks to Ciprian Samoila for support of our organization's website of stories and mapping resources, too!
Today is a great day to start making your first Green Map!
