This extensive Farm to Fork program began in 2009 as a way to introduce fresh food to students through the lunch program, gardens, and cooking classes. Today they grow and buy local as much as possible.

Garden Coordinator: Erin Yeakel (Contact: Eyeakel@qsd48.org). She works 20 hours a week during the school year and 4 hours a week during the summer.

ENTERPRISE

  • 2022 Culinary Art Classes Instructor: Crystal Manly.  
  • Program includes getting instruction and cooking four days a week, breakfast and Lunch (prep, cook, manage…) Students are required to get food handlers card from Jefferson County and some participate in FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) [https://wa-fccla.org]. Other students have taken CPR courses as part of the program.
