A non-profit, with all proceeds benefiting the Glasgow School of Art Students' Association, Victoria Café & Bar at The Art School is part of the art school & is adjacent to the Reid Building of the Glasgow School of Art, opposite the historic & famous Mackintosh Building.
Vic Café & Bar is student- & artist-led, offering space & support for a wide range of artistic & musical practices, gigs, clubs, films, & educational events, alongside regular hours of service to the public.
The building itself opened in 1927 as a textile studio for the Glasgow School of Art, & was later converted into a café - using the remnants of the original Victoria Café in Glasgow's Southside, including wood panels, some seating, & the original stained-glass windows.
