Describe the history of the lighthouse
The original lighthouse was one of 9 cast iron towers given by the British Government to Mexico. These were constructed by Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham and the light at Isla Perez was a 4th order revolving example. This was replaced by the current concrete tower structure though I was unable to ascertain what happened to the original Chance lens.
