The lighthouse was built by a Dane, Enrique Siemsen who was instrumental in many Chilean lighthouses. It was the second lighthouse to have been put into service in Chile and is situated at the north eastern tip of the Isla Grande del Chiloe and marks the entrance to Ancud. It has been modernised so I presume the Chance optic has now been removed. The lighthouse is still manned and sometimes allow tours of the tower.
