  • Describe the history of the lighthouse

Very little information is available regarding this lighthouse situated on an island off the coast of Los Vilos. The first lighthouse was established in 1901 with a 6th order fixed and occulting optic supplied by Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham. This lighthouse was said to be a white tower with a green lantern however I have been unable to find any photographs of this lighthouse. This has now been replaced with a modern fibreglass construction.
