Describe the history of the lighthouse
The lighthouse optic was one of four ordered for Peru from Chance Brothers of Smethwick near Birmingham in 1908 however some were not fitted until much later and in this case it was not until 1928 the lighthouse came in to use for reasons I have been unable to find. I have made the presumption that the original Chance lens is still in situ. It is located on a rocky island 14km west of Punta Salinas which is only accesible by boat.
