The lighthouse was established during Btitish rule in 1909 and fitted with a 3rd order revolving lens from Chance Brothers in Smethwick near Birmingham. It's lighting system was severely damaged during the war in 2015 but a new system manufactured by a Finnish company Sabik Marine successfully installed a new system which went live in November 2020.
