Convivium- 515 East 86th Street

The building is covered in 2 different types of porcelain panels (one with a light grey hue, and the other with a dark grey), which were both custom designed for the project. The building is covered in over 18,000 square feet of porcelain panels.

The ventilated porcelain rainscreen system supplied by Porcelanosa Facades, helped Convivium achieve the Passive House certification.

NYSERDA recognized Convivium’s achievements and awarded the Buildings of Excellence Awards.

Passive House in New York City

"Passive House" is an important building standard that brings efficiency and comfort together.  New York City has a growing number of these new, state of the art buildings that save money and the climate. Also known as Passivehaus (this standard has German roots), several of the newest buildings came from this national database, Passive House Projects. This map is made by Green Map System's own local Green Map NYC project.
