As a Passive House Institute Certified Building, Charlotte’s state-of-the art systems dramatically lower energy use and deliver the best air quality imaginable- each residence gets a change of freshly filtered and UV-sterilized air every hour.

2024 Green GOOD DESIGN Sustainability Award by the Chicago Athenaeum

Intended to dialogue directly with the Upper West Side district typology, the building’s design drew inspiration from the architectural traditions of sculptural brick and terra cotta details, planes of masonry, and robust cornices.

"Passive House" is an important building standard that brings efficiency and comfort together.  New York City has a growing number of these new, state of the art buildings that save money and the climate. Also known as Passivehaus (this standard has German roots), several of the newest buildings came from this national database, Passive House Projects. This map is made by Green Map System's own local Green Map NYC project. We created our first Passive House Green Map in 2013, and in summer 2025, 50 buildings were added and/or updated by Simone Reckhaus, our intern from University of Bologna in Italy.
