Montrose cycle path was the first in Angus to be managed with an urban wildlife friendly approach. Pond excavation, riparian vegetation and wetland planting for shade and shelter, and changes to the grass cutting regime have allowed wildflowers to regenerate and birdlife to increase at both ponds along the track.
