Glasgow Reform Synagogue (GRS) is located to the South of Glasgow City, in Newton Mearns. They hold services every Shabbat (Jewish Sabbath, which runs from sundown on Friday night through to sundown on Saturday night) & for all the major holidays.
Friday night services normally take place on the last Friday of each month & commence at 6:30 pm (18:30). Shabbat morning services take place each week at 10:30 am. A generous Kiddush (wine blessing) is served following Shacharit (morning prayer) services, when members & visitors have the opportunity to meet one another, members of the Board, & GRS service leaders.
GRS follows UK Reform practices, with regard to its attitude to worship - families sit together, women all participate in services, & a proportion of our prayers are read in English.
Because learning has always been central to Judaism, GRS also offers regular learning opportunities to suit both adults & children, with large breadth of educational material & a fully-stocked library which is available to all members.
