  • Describe the history of the lighthouse

I have been unable to find much information about this lighthouse which is on top of the small island of Dongding (Chapel Island) which is approximately 13km off the mainland coast. I have only found one photograph of the lighthouse and this shows a very small light in the lantern so it appears the first order optic listed in Chance Brothers of Smethwick's as both fixed and revolving has now been removed. The lighthouse managed to survive WWII unscathed but needed repair after being damaged by artillery fire in 1964.
