Established in 2012 and borne from the desire to support and promote sustainable development within the Scourie area.
Our Mission: To deliver projects and improvements in an environmentally-friendly and sensitive way for the benefit of all residents, neighbours, stakeholders and visitors.
Our Aims:
- To strengthen community resilience
- Provide solutions to overcome inequalities
- Develop and implement actions identified in the Scourie Development Plan
Current projects:
1. Scourie Rocks - an ambitious project to build a visitor centre to house the Shelley Collection of 4000 gems, rocks and fossils
2. Affordable Housing - awaiting planning approval to construct 9 affordable homes
3. The relocation of Scourie School Car Park to free up access to the housing development - awaiting planning approval
4. The further development of the nature garden and growing area
5. Health and Wellbeing initiatives, in particular the continuation of the mobile foot clinic and EMDR mental health service
6. Investigating the viability of seaweed farming
The Development Officer serves as the first point of contact for enquiries and can be reached by various means, reporting to the Board of Directors is done on a regular basis
