Our aim is to empower people by showing them how to go about growing their own food and at the same time being able to tap into the knowledge and skills of the existing plot holders.
We want to educate people on the benefits of growing their own food wither that be the physical, emotional of financial benefits. We want to improve the conditions of people’s lives giving them the access to an outdoor space where they can come, grow their own food, be able to socially interact with others and at the same time build on their own skills.
We want to make our allotments accessible to all. That is why we are putting in high raised beds so that people with mobility issues can access their growing spaces. There is also pathways around the allotment to make it accessible by wheelchairs or by people who have difficulty moving around. We want to be able to show people that it is easier and financially beneficial to them to grow their own fruit and vegetables.
Our main aim here is to help with the financial poverty that is very real within our local community.
