Two family townhouse gut renovation and addition, utilizing certified Passive House windows, solar orientation strategy, optimization of thermal performance for the new addition and mitigating thermal bridging.

Further sustainable strategies include extensive green roof and energy efficient heat pump-based HVAC. Wonderful aesthetic dialogue between traditional exterior with the contemporary interior.

"Passive House" is an important building standard that brings efficiency and comfort together.  New York City has a growing number of these new, state of the art buildings that save money and the climate. Also known as Passivehaus (this standard has German roots), several of the newest buildings came from this national database, Passive House Projects. This map is made by Green Map System's own local Green Map NYC project.
