Nature-based solution category: peatland restoration
The Rottal Estate peatland restoration project is restoring historically drained blanket bog by raising the water table and revegetating areas of peatland through bare peat restoration and grip and ditch blocking. Since work began in 2020, 70 hectares of peatland have been restored, supporting carbon storage, habitat recovery and improved upland water management.
