This project: peatland, pond or wetland restoration, tree planting
Garth Wood is an 80-acre rewilding project near Aberfeldy on a steep slope overlooking the River Lyon. Following the felling of a commercial forestry plantation, the site has been replanted with native broadleaf species and Scots pine, supported by pond creation and natural woodland regeneration. The project aims to restore native woodland habitats, increase biodiversity, create more space for water and promote long-term ecological resilience.
