Glasgow Botanic Gardens

Glasgow Botanic Gardens is a landmark botanical garden located in the West End of Glasgow. Just celebrating its 200th birthday in 2017, it features several glasshouses / greenhouses, the most notable of which is the iconic Kibble Palace.

With a large collection of plant-life, & a wealth of knowledge (both historic & contemporary) about the plant world, the Glasgow Botanic Gardens is not one to miss for all those who love : nature, green-space, picnics, architecture, or simply a pause of quiet time in the bustle of the city.

*Welcome update - from Spring 2021 the Tearooms have reopened!*

*Exciting public mass-participation art exhibition (FREE!) 'Moths To A Flame' will be in place in the Kibble Palace for the duration of COP26 - link to its separate listing here on Glasgow Green Maps, below!*

Guided Health Walks (tours) - Conducted Health Walks take place every Thursday starting at 1pm outside the Kibble Palace. The walks are for those over 16 years old & are free, lasting approximately 1 hour & concluding with tea & biscuits in the Botanic Gardens library!
