The Forth & Clyde Canal that crosses central Scotland includes the Glasgow Canal which stretches across the city, & the Forth & Clyde Spur Towpath is 7.7-kilometers of green-space just a short walk (or wheelchair-roll!) to the North of Glasgow's City Centre.
A multi-use trail just beside the canal, the towpath is mainly used for walking, running, & road biking.
*Accessibility note - whilst the path is paved (as are most of its surrounds), some with mobility impairments, or users of wheeled supports such as wheelchairs or walkers, may find it inaccessible in entirety due to the accessibility of getting to & from the towpath, including the presence of cobble in some places around Speirs Wharf area (across the canal & nearby).
Dogs are permitted but must be kept on a lead / leash.
