The Oak Garden team aims to play a small but meaningful part in the broader desire to regenerate the neighbourhood and give new opportunities to citizens.

We are developing a multifunctional garden to enrich people's lives in the local and wider community and increase biodiversity. We are creating a hub for local schools and citizens to learn new skills, gain confidence, enjoy socialising outdoors, and obtain the therapeutic benefits of gardening. Also, we can provide work experience and vocational rehabilitation.

We grow an abundance of crops with a sheltered position and fertile ground. We are fully sustainable without water or electricity supply; hence, we collect water from the rain and have solar panels. From it, we obtain sustainable and affordable products that can be used for food banks and neighbours or to create meals at local schools. This will, in turn, strengthen people's understanding and appreciation for where their food comes from. Also, citizens can learn the whole process of growing those and use the skills learned to grow their vegetables in their gardens or homes.

This garden is open 24/7. We work with many organisations that help us flourish and can book the space to develop workshops without charge. With this, we aim to encourage people to participate in activities created for them. At the same time, entertain them and teach them how to live more resilient and sustainably.
