The Connecting in Communities project works with the communitites of the Glenkens and District. The project enables those that are vulnerable, unable to participate in the traditional way and those in need of upskilling or support to get the most from living in the Glenkens. Often our work is just to gain an understanding of how we can provide projects and programmes that are required and are highlighted by individuals and groups for people in the area. Also we manage a pool of local volunteers to supprt the programes and groups that run on an adhoc or regular basis. Finally I am putting together a paper that should encompass and relflect acurately what is needed in the Glenkens and district in the future for everyone to live and work in a sustainable and embracing environment. The plan is to meet as many people as is possible to draw a paper to reflect peoples views and to understand the barriers and challenges of the rural area.
